Winter Weather Preparedness - Winter Storm Fern
The City of Sanger Electric Department has initiated its Emergency Operations Plan in preparation for Winter Storm Fern, in accordance with ERCOT directives.
At this time, ERCOT anticipates there will be sufficient power generation to meet demand throughout the storm. However, if ERCOT were to mandate a load shed to protect the stability of the statewide electric grid, the City of Sanger would be required to comply.
While no load shed is currently expected, we want to ensure our residents are prepared for all possibilities. We encourage everyone to take a few moments now to plan ahead. Have flashlights ready, charge essential devices, and review your household’s winter weather plan.
