Parks & Recreation

Responsibilities

The City of Sanger Parks Department works in conjunction with the Parks Board and the Keep Sanger Beautiful Board to coordinate and develop park facilities, recreational opportunities, and special events.

The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for maintaining 87 acres consisting of:

  • A sports complex
  • Parks
  • Ballfields
  • Public land
  • Public buildings

The Parks Department coordinates the use of city facilities with various soccer, softball, and baseball associations and community groups such as the Lions Club, Senior Center, and Women's Club.

The Parks and Recreation Department also holds special events throughout the year such as the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Sanger Trash-Off, and the Christmas Parade.

The City of Sanger Parks and Recreation Department will provide recreational facilities, programs, and services with dedication focused on increasing the quality of life for the community. We will accomplish this goal through citizen involvement and wise use of resources with a commitment to excellence.
